Human Resources Positions is Prohibited for Expatriate in Indonesia

Human Resources positions is prohibited for Expatriate in Indonesia. The positions include procurement and manpower placement, wage distribution, compensation and social security. Additionally, positions that determine personnel control systems, work assessment, dismissal, education and training and career development.

According to the Manpower and Transmigration Ministerial Decree No.40/2012, which became effective on February 29, strategic positions must be occupied by Indonesian workers in order to protect local workers. However, top management positions such as directors, commissioners and executives can still be filled by foreigners.
